The iMergencies App

The iMergencies App uses the GPS / GSM mobile phone technology.

The App has an emergency button that, when you press it, contacts our emergency number and at the same time shares your location so that we know exactly where and what help we have to send.
You can add relevant data and adjust your data in the app. You can even add a photo of yourself to the account, which can be quite useful in some emergency situations.
There is also a function in the app called ‘Augmented reality (AR)’. This function opens your camera and when you turn the camera it shows the way to the nearest Doctor, Hospital, Police Station or Dentist.
This technology is very young and therefore has currently only a few doctors and hospitals in the system , we expect that this database will grow soon.

How it works

To use our app in an emergency, all you have to do is press the SOS button. This will trigger your phone’s GPS to locate your position and automatically send an alert to our emergency Central alongside your location. At the same time, by means of an acknowledgement, you can establish a voice connection after which you can communicate with 1 of our dispatchers about your situation/needs. (in 6 different languages, PT – EN – NL – DE – FR – ES)

Our team of experts will use the relevant data stored in the app’s database, such as your medical history and other important details, to activate the most appropriate form of assistance and share the information with the emergency crew. We’ll also stay in touch with you until help arrives.

iMergencies helps you to be better prepared for these unpredictable events and now provides an application that allows you to get assistance during an emergency by turning your mobile phone into a panic button.

Easy to use thanks to its simple design and intuitive navigation, the new iMergencies App is an extension and improvement of our services and as such, we are pleased to offer it to our customers.

Although GSM/GPS is a widespread technology, GPS positioning is not always possible, especially in shielded environments such as indoors, parking garages or shopping malls, or when a GSM/GPS interference signal is present.
This means that our app only works when there is GSM/GPS network reception.
When an alarm is triggered, we receive a live GPS location, get in touch with the person in distress and find their exact location. We maintain contact with them until an ambulance or help arrives.
